Latest update on my #iwillbeback! journey
My uber Stevie has started driving me to the beach in the morning. While I am walking for longer periods of time each week, he thinks walking to the beach and back will be a bit tough for me right now. So, after our early morning Garnasium session, into the car we go. (BTW: Garnasium? That’s what Steve calls our workout area in the garage. He makes words up.)

As soon as I stepped out of the car (with assistance from my person), I could smell the smells and hear the sounds I have missed! And to feel the sand under my paws! WOOF! Steve still keeps me on the short leash we used for our pet therapy rounds and he won’t let me jump and play Rocca Leana Broca Leana the Dancing Ballerina. But it has been so good to see my old pup buds. Lots of ear scratches, belly rubs, and, of course, a biscuit or two is involved.

One of the things we do before I get to plop and chill is walk in the soft sand. The nice humans in that big building that fixed my leg said that me walking on the sand will help me get stronger. I’m all for that.
Speaking of the big building, I returned there yesterday. They put me on a table and passed something over my leg. I heard words like radiograph and x-rays and healing well. No clue about any of it. But it seems to be the next step in my recovery to return to my favorite little yellow building and give those twerking squirrels a run down the fence line.

One paw at a time….
I’ve heard that a lot of humans have had to stay away from places and beings that give them joy. I hope that they all get a chance to return to those places like I had the opportunity to get back to our beach.
One paw at a time….

Thanks for coming back to my blog. You make me happier than biscuits!
My book, Roxie Looks for Purpose Beyond the Biscuit, is still available. I share stories and lessons about friends, family, and fun. And I speak about purpose as well. (Steve says for dogs we might just want to call it “furpose.” He makes words up, I think.) Perhaps the book holds a biscuit or two for you!

Roxie, Jasper & I are so happy you are getting back to your happy place. Jasper has had a tough week with July 4th. We have missed our after dinner walks with those loud booms going off everywhere. Enjoy your time at the beach. So glad you are healing well.

Thanks, Linda. I have a few other canine bus who get spooked by all those loud bangs and bright flashes. I sleep through it all. Guess I am lucky (or lazy!). Give Jasper a belly rub and biscuit! WOOF!
